History[]
Bartholomew Henry Allen (born May, 1977) was the child of doctor Henry Allen and his wife Nora Allen. Gifted with an inquisitive mind geared towards science, just like his father, from a young age Barry developed an interest in his father work, starting to develop a dream to one day be just like him. However that dream was shattered, since in 1989, just four days after Barry's 12th birthday, his mother was murdered, stabbed to death, and his father was arrested for the crime. Even though the young Barry told everyone his father didn't do it. However not being able to explain what he saw at the time, which were just blurs of yellow and red, Barry's words were believed by no one and his father was sentenced to prison for his mother's killing. Leading Barry to losing both his parents, and swearing an oath to prove his father's innocence one day and get him released from jail.
After his father was sent away, and with his mother dead, having no other family, Barry was adopted by then police detective Daryle Frye. An old friend of Henry and Nora's. Once this occurred Barry tried to resume his normal life, though with his nerdy disposition, and the matter surrounding his parents, that was not made easy. Especially by the other kids around him. Though Barry did find solace and friendship in a few individuals namely his childhood friends Iris West, Ralph Dibny, Patty Spivot, Dexter Myles, and his best friend August Heart. With them, and Daryl by his side, Barry slowly but surely started to come to terms with all he had endured and move forward. Even so he never gave up his quest to prove his father's innocence, and bring the real killer of his mother Nora to justice.
This never ending search for answers, along with Barry's interest in science in general, and his inquisitive mind that loved putting things together, eventually led the young man to study forensics in college, where after he graduated he got a job as a forensic scientist with the Central City Police Department. Yet even with all his achievements Barry found himself still no closer to solving his mother's case over a decade later. Until in the year 2000 when everything suddenly changed.
In October of that year Barry is working late one night in his personal lab, when all of a sudden he noticed the new S.T.A.R. labs particle accelerator emit waves of energy. Though before he truly has time to react, or even process, what he is seeing Barry is struck by one of the waves of energy which throws him into a shelf full of chemicals, which then douse his entire body. Then immediately after this happens he is suddenly struck by a lightning bolt. These combinations of events puts Barry into a coma for six months, and when he awakes he finds himself under the care of the remaining staff of the Central City S.T.A.R. labs branch which include Dr. Catlin Snow, engineer Francisco Ramon, and finally the former head of the lab himself, Dr. Harrison Wells. Who informs Barry of his status and what resulted in it. Shortly after this Barry soon discovers he has the power to run at incredible speeds. In addition he also learns he was not the only one gifted with incredible powers during the night of the accelerator explosion, and knowing the police would not be able to handle super powered beings Barry decides to take it upon himself to deal with them. Gaining support from Wells and his teams Barry creates a costume and decides to use his power to protect and safeguard the people of Central City. Eventually his actions gain him the notice of one of the founding members of the Justice Society of America, Jay Garrick, who contacts Barry and informs him he is now a conduit for a primal force of nature known as the Speed Force. Jay also decides to inform Barry that he is impressed with his work, so much so he had decided to pass the mantle of his name onto him, which Barry gladly accepts. Thus the second Flash is born.
A mantle that Barry goes on to work very hard to live up too, and also make his own. Which he eventually does, in particular after helping found the Justice League in 2004, where he then finds himself saving the universe time and time again for years to come.
Powers and Abilities[]

Powers[]
Speed Force Conduit: After Barry was struck by a bolt of lightning, doused with chemicals, and exposed to the exotic particles released when the Central City Star Labs particle accelerator exploded, he gained a connection to the Speed Force—a mysterious cosmic force that pushes time and space itself forward. As it does this, the Speed Force creates excess energy that builds up and needs to be released. Barry, and the other speedsters connected to the Speed Force, act effectively as its release valve. When Barry uses his powers, he taps into that built up energy and expends it. He is also one of its numerous avatars.
