History
State-of-the-art Batsuit which automatically conforms to his size. The Batsuit features new gadgets such as glider wings, "thrusters" on the boots and even a cloaking device. Upgrade to fight against metahuman villains and the like.
Early History
Mid 21st Century Batsuit Bruce Wayne's final Batsuit as Batman. The final Batsuit was developed presumably to compensate for Bruce Wayne's advancing age and was eventually inherited by Terry McGinnis when he assumed the mantle of Batman. The Suit was at least two decades old when Terry became Gotham's new savior; however, its technology was so advanced that it was still considered state of the art. Another fifteen years later, Terry was still wearing this Batsuit, though its belt had pouches.
The wide array of technology used to build the suit is of unknown origin, except for its servo-motors, which were supplied by Dr. Peter Corso. Bruce combined and incorporated most of the features and concepts of previous costumes and other gadgets into this Suit, such as the flight capability of the Jet-Wing, batarangs with auxiliary functions, grappling guns, bolas, and retractable claws, among other things. It also gave the wearer superhuman strength, agility, and endurance. He also built in new features such as a cloaking device—possibly inspired by the light refractive polymer—although this function probably consumed a good deal of the Suit's power, seeing as Terry minimized its usage. With this Suit, Batman had more versatility, as he was less dependent on portable gadgets, as well as less vulnerable to external adversities, such as water, electricity, heat and radiation. The entire costume was an exoskeleton of electronic circuits; however, it was malleable like regular clothing, capable of being folded to fit inside Terry's backpack. Moreover, it conformed to the size of its wearer, seeing as it was able to fit both Bruce and Terry who had different physiques at the time each one of them donned it. Its external cloth was also somewhat resistant, still it could be torn off, thus exposing the Suit's circuitry.
The cowl was replaced with a full face mask and the bat chest symbol was changed again. However, the cape was removed and replaced by retractable wings spread between the inner arms and sides of the body. Also, the utility belt was incorporated into the suit. The boots included thrusters that allowed Batman to fly in the absence of wind. However, for long range flights, he generally used the Batmobile. The Suit was very durable, being able to withstand massive concussive forces, fire, water, lasers, and electric shocks.
Upgrades
While on a mission into the parallel universe where the Justice Lords reside, Terry found an alternate version of his Batsuit (hidden in the compartment where Bruce kept the prototype suit) built by Lord Batman before his death to counter Lord Superman's powers and abilities, the extra enhancements included force fields, holographic projections, and it featured synthetic kryptonite as a weapon. After defeating Lord Superman with the help of Superman (Beyond), he and Dick Grayson started upgrading his own suit with the enhancements. The upgrades include a new pair of wings on Terry's Batsuit to help him gain better capability in flight, but Bruce rejects the new wings.
Paraphernalia
- New upgrades:
- force fields,
- holographic projections
- Kryptonite powered: it featured synthetic kryptonite as a weapon.
- a new pair of wings on Terry's Batsuit to help him gain better capability in flight, but Bruce rejects the new wings.
- swords that emit red sun energy which strip away Kryptonian's powers.
- more traditional bat pouches.
- EMP Mask: A highly advanced mask created by Lucius Fox, the mask is made of webbing that retracts light surrounding the wearer's head and artificially alters the appearance of someone's face. Terry started wearing one under his Bat mask in case he gets unmasked.
- Enhanced strength by a factor of ten, ultimately allowing him to lift up to 1700 lbs.
- Minimal reduction (or increase) in flexibility.
- Forearm spikes can Extend out.
- Enhanced visual assistance that allows him to see in the dark (visual from the Batsuit can be fed back to the main computer in the Batcave; it can also receive visual from the main computer, allowing for superior tactical planning). The visor can also serve as digital binoculars and an infra-red filter as well as a scanner.
- Personal communicator allows Terry to keep in constant contact with Bruce at the Batcave.
- Enhanced ballistic protection.
- Significantly resistant to heat, electricity, water, and vibrations, but only slightly resistant to radiation.
- Built-in rebreather for underwater combat/exploration.
- Dispensable Batarangs with a range of auxiliary functions, such as producing electric shocks. However, there is a limit to the amount of Batarangs the Batsuit can dispense; Batman has run out on at least one occasion.
- Disk can be fired from the top of the wrist.
- Electrical discharges throughout the suit that can be activated by pushing the button on the belt.
- Wrist-mounted laser capable of melting metal and stunning his opponents.
- Grappling guns built into the forearms.
- Flashbang grenades.
- Smoke pellets.
- Flexicuffs.
- A lock decipher.
- Launchable tracers.
- Retractale Tweezers.
- A frequency scanner to pick up hot spots.
- A retractable PIN or password decipherer in the form of a key on the right index finger.
- Retractable wings under the arms to glide on.
- Rocket boots enabling limited flight.
- Electromagnetic pads in the soles of the boots enabling him to cling to walls and ceilings.
- Sensitive touch microphone on index and middle fingers that permits eavesdropping through solid surfaces.
- Sensors that work as a polygraph.
- Drug identifier, utilized by dipping fingers into the substance.
- Built-in cloaking device that enables almost complete camouflage. It allows camouflage extending into the visible light and infrared frequencies of the electromagnetic spectrum. A countermeasure used by Commissioner Barbara Gordon to this in one incident where she was hunting Batman down was through tracking him using an ultraviolet light to illuminate him.
- Retractable claws which can be used to slice or facilitate climbing.
- Can uplink with the Batmobile for remote piloting.
- A remote kill function that can externally deactivate the suit from the Batcave.
- The belt buckle also serves as a buzz saw to get out of a room quickly or to cut through denser material.
- New upgrades:
