Devasted, Bruce's eyes balls out in tears while also being engaged he didn't even get to hear his parents final words. Though sad, young Bruce was already also determined and had his mind set on vengeance as the GCPD come to the scene.
Thomas Wayne's butler and also good friend, Alfred Pennyworth would pick up Bruce from the GCPD station and raise him and continue his parents wishes.
Bruce would be raised to have morals, ethics and also that the trust fund wouldn't just be handed to him until he learns to be responsible.
As Bruce grows into a young man, he takes his studies and training oversees with the mission he's had since his childhood in mind.

Batman is the world's greatest detective and the protector of Gotham City. Behind the cowl, Batman is billionaire Bruce Wayne, a man who promises a productive future for Gotham.
Back to the Roots
Bruce has recently felt he's not performing to the best of his abilities despite all of his friends and allies disagreeing. Bruce decided to take a break from the outside of Gotham threats and problems and wants to rediscover what makes Batman who he is as the protector of Gotham City. Within a few hours, Batman had already destroyed a few illegal weapons crates allegedly belonging to The Penguin and has put fear into the heart of The Penguin's goons.
A few weeks later, Bruce finds himself being a target to a League of Assassins threat. The league left a shuriken with what seems to be a note attached to it. As Alfred attempts to retrieve it, Bruce alerts him and tells him to stand back as it could be a trap knowing how the league operates. Bruce himself retrieves the shuriken and the note and it read "Mister Bruce Wayne, you are one of the few people on the earth that can pose a problem to our world domination plan and we send this as a warning to stand aside, we will not ask a second time and if you do not comply, you and your loved ones will suffer our wrath". Bruce balls the note up and let's Alfred know the situation and potential threat and that as Batman, he will intercept and prevent their world domination attempt from gaining any traction.
"Master Bruce, if you don't mind me interjecting, this seems like a threat too great for even The Batman, I'd recommend using your allies resources", Alfred said concerned. "Y'know Alfred you may be right, Batman is capable of many things but Batman cannot be at multiple places at the same exact time to stop the league's several branches of assassins, I know who I'll need to recruit to get the job done", Bruce said with determination.
