History
Origin
Kal-El’s father was a kryptonian scientist whose exposure to yellow-sun radiation which inspired strange side effects in his species made him believe his son would be some sort of reak. He then put his son in a rocket so “save” krypton from him. Kal-El was found and raised by mild mannered doctors, “the banners,” who named him Clark. Although they taught him good morals, they failed to teach him how to stand up for himself and Clark simply became as mild-mannered as they.
Clark excelled in the solar power field, whose work on solar panels made them far more efficient and affordable. However, Clark was recruited by general “Thunderbolt” Lane to work on a solar bomb for the government’s Project Metropolis. There he met Thunderbolt’s daughter Liz Lane, a daring reporter who he was often at odds with (in a passive-agressive way). At the time of the big bomb test, a teenager named Rick Olson drove into the bomb field on a dare. Clark rushed onto the field to save him from the bomb. He succeeded, but was caught by the blast which changed his body chemistry.
He was quarantined after the ray bath. He quickly became frantic and as his heart rate increased he mutated into a giant green beast. The beast wreaked havoc throughout Project Metropolis until Rick calmed the beast down. He then reverted back to Banner. Banner then realized that whenever his heartrate increased, he would turn into the uncontrollable beast. The beast was christened called the Super-Hulk by the press.
Fugitive to Hero
Unfortunately, Rick revealed Banner’s identity as the Hulk when he was thought dead. When Banner resurfaced, he was forced to become a fugitive for years. With what little contact he had with Liz, the two would become closer. However, after defeating several deadly menaces, the Super-Hulk was accepted by General Nicholas White to become a military resource to use against super-powered threats. Banner was hesitant to submit to becoming government property, but agreed when they would only call in the Super-Hulk as a last resort. Liz then revealed that she had been in love with Clark since they had met. As time went on, the Super-Hulk became more and more moral and his intellect improved slightly. Knowing that the Hulk was no longer a menace to Liz’s safety, he proposed to her to which she happily accepted. Despite interference from General Lane, the two were happily married.
