History[]
Clark Joseph Kent (born July, 1975) was originally known as simply Kal-El. A member of the House of El on the alien planet known as Krypton, having been born as the only son of respected scientist and house head Jor-El and his wife Lara Lor-Van. The two of them having their child naturally, a feat which hadn't been done on Krypton in generations thanks to the races great advancements in genetic and biological engineering. Though despite being the first on Krypton to come about using this method in a long time Kal-El was born perfectly healthy. Which was a great satisfaction to his parents. However Kal-El would never truly know how much this was, since shortly after he was born his parents launched him into a space towards Earth, on a secret rocket they had built. For Kyrpton was on the verge of destruction, and his parents wanting to spare him that fate, and put the hope of their people's legacy on him, sent him away. Thus the young Kryptonian left his homeworld without ever truly getting to know and experience himself.
Traveling through the stars Kal-El ship arrived at Earth safety. Where it then touched down in a place known as Smallville, Kansas. Right on the property belonging to a farming couple known as Jonathan and Martha Kent, who for years had been trying to conceive a child of their own but were unsuccessful. Thus after discovering Kal-El crashed ship instead of fearing or reporting him the Kent couple decided to adopt the boy and make him their son, giving the baby Kryptonian his earth name, Clark Joseph Kent.
Growing up Clark was awkward, namely due to his powers, which at the time were only super strength and invulnerability, and having to keep them a secret. He never felt normal, and his already quiet personality didn't make things any better. However he did find friendship in the likes of his first love Lana Lang, Pete Ross, and the cousin of his future wife, Chloe Sullivan. With them, and his parents, by his side the young Clark had a relatively normal childhood. At least until he hit adolescent and entered puberty. For that is when his other Kryptonian powers began manifesting themselves. Such as his super speed, enhanced senses, and his various vision-related abilities such as heat and X-ray. Seeing what was happening to their son John and Martha finally decided to reveal the truth of his origins to him. Showing Clark his ship, and explaining how he came to be their son, the Kent's left him with many questions and no answers. So Clark decided to find them. Investigating his rocket he found a crystal which gave him instructions that he followed and thus he acquired his Fortress of Solitude. Where he learned the truth of his origins, from the name of his home world, to why he had been sent to Earth in the first place. Which was a lot for Clark to take in. However he slowly but surely came to terms with being Kryptonian and began embracing his powers a bit by going around and saving people. Eventually earning himself the moniker of Superboy. He also began dating Lana. But eventually that, and being called Superboy, both came to an end.
The first being his relationship with Lana which happened right after they graduated high school. The second was when Clark finally decided to begin his formal training in regards to his Kryptonian powers and his heritage. At the end of which Superboy was no more and instead what came out of it was Superman.
After adopting his new hero persona Clark went to work protecting the people of his adoptive homeworld. Namely in Metropolis, where he now lived. As well as now worked, at the Newspaper known as the Daily Planet. Right alongside his friend and photographer James "Jimmy" Olsen and Chloe's cousin, who would become his future wife, the hard-hitting reporter Lois Lane. The three of them becoming a team that would go through many trials and tribulations together over the years. But before that Clark had to face many challenges on his own. Namely those from his growing Rogue gallery which included the likes of Toyman, Parasite, Volcano, Livewire, and even the criminal organization known as Intergang. But most of these threats didn't even come close to matching Clark's greatest enemies which included his fellow Kryptonian General Zod, occasionally the alien bounty hunter Lobo, and then his most dangerous foe, who in fact was responsible for the creation of another known as Metallo, Lex Luthor.
Though with enemies Clark also gained allies. From his cousin Kara Zor-El to his teammates in the Justice League. Which he helped to found in the Spring of 2004.
