History[]

Connor Kent (born June, 2011) is a genetically engineered Human/Krptonian hybrid clone created by Project Cadmus under the direction of Lex Luthor, using his and Superman's DNA as the genetic templates. Once created Connor was aged to his mid-teens and downloaded with a wealth of information, in preparation for him to the ultimate weapon that would bring down Superman. However after Superman's supposed death at the hands of Doomsday Lex Luthor decided to instead train Connor to be the Man of Steel replacement. Thus he was released from his confinement and began directly learning and being taught by Lex himself. He then made his debut to the world in early 2013, over a year after Superman's "demise". Though Connor wasn't the only one to appear, as three others claiming to be heir to the mantle of his genetic father stepped forward. Leading him into what would become known as the clash of the Supermen.

In the aftermath of which, with the original Superman back in action, who accepted Connor despite his dubious origins, the young hybrid clone defected from the service of Lex Luthor and found a place in the Superman family and with the other heroes of the world. Where he met fellow teenage heroes, who would become his lifelong friends, the then Robin Timothy Drake, Victor Stone, Cassandra Sandsmark, Emiko-Adachi Queen, M'Gann M'orzz, and Vincent West, who along with Connor would come together to form the second incarnation of the Teen Titans in early 2013, a team created by their older heroic predecessors who now called themselves the Titans.

Notes[]

  • At first due to his hybrid nature Conner only power was known as Tactile Telekinesis, which he used to simulate most of the powers Superman possessed, but after joining sides with his heroic genetic donor he gained access to Kryptonian technology, which was used to unlock his full Kryptonian genetic potential. Gifting him with all the actual powers most Kryptonians would possess under the rays of a yellow sun, in exchange for the loss of his telekinesis.
  • While technically only 2 years old, due to being artificially created, when Clark and the rest of the Superman family went to forging Conner records they placed his year of birth as 1998. They were also the ones who gave him the names Conner Kent and his honorary Kryptonite name Kon-El.

Trivia[]

  • When he first began his hero career Conner had immense anger and arrogance issues due to the nature of his birth. But with time he came to terms with both of them.
  • Like some of his fellow young heroes Conner wore his legacy hero mantle name, of Superboy, for the entire teen years. But eventually wanting to strike out on his own he coined the name Dauntless as his new mantle when he entered his twenties.
  • Amongst everyone he has formed relationships with in his life Conner considers Tim Drake his best friend and honorary brother. A feeling Tim mutually reciprocates.
  • Shortly after joining the heroic community Conner discovered that due to the method used in his creation although he would age chronologically, his biological and physical natures would remain that of a boy in his late teens for the rest of his life.
    • During the Infinite Crisis of 2025 when Conner was revived from the dead by the Legion of Superheroes, after his battle with a crazed Superboy-Prime, the process somehow jump started his natural physical and biological aging natures. Gifting him with the ability to grow older like many of his comrades and even his wife.
  • Conner was in love with his fellow teammate Cassandra Sandsmark for a long time, but not wanting her to have to share the burden of his non-aging body he constantly sabotaged their relationship. Until he returned from death after the Infinite Crisis. Realizing the foolishness of his past actions. Leading him to enter a permanent relationship with Cassandra, which quickly saw the pair married by early 2026.
