History

I did not venture into Man's World so I can leave it to mayhem by the worst of mankind. I remain here because I have seen the good in people. There is more to man than war, greed, and violence! In life, there's love, truth, and peace, which triumph over evil... As "idealistic" as that may seem to the eyes of many, I would rather die believing and fighting for humanity's goodness than keep living in a spiteful and defeatist lie.
--Wonder Woman

Born to an affair between Amazon Queen Hippolyta and the Greek God Zeus, Diana of Themyscira was not only a beloved and compassionate princess of the mystical Paradise Island, but also a demigoddess who was destined for greatness with the powers she had inherited. In spite of her people's tradition and belief not to speak or interact with the rest of the world, one fateful day allowed Diana to travel to Man's World around the beginning of the height of the Second World War and selflessly joined the valiant efforts of the Allies as the heroic Wonder Woman, inspiring and co-founding a small but growing group of fellow heroic enhanced individuals and superpowered beings that would end up evolving into the Justice Society of America, whom Diana would witness succeed her and be inspired by her acts of heroism and faith in humanity throughout the decade when she revisited Man's World from time to time, albeit she returned to Themyscira in the meantime wherein she did her best to convince and educate her people to be the bridge of both worlds and become their diplomat and ambassador once she returns to open civilization.

However, when matters in Themyscira made Diana first deal with threats that began to endanger not only her home but the rest of Earth, she finally prompted to return to Man's World after several decades and stay there for a longer indefinite period since the late 1990s and early 2000s. While this new present that she had stepped on felt strange at first with how much the world outside Themyscira had changed and was appalled by how human-driven conflicts have grown overtime, Diana met new welcoming allies and friends such as Etta Candy, Barbara Minerva, Julia Deneiros, and Steve Trevor, who all made her feel the same love and compassion for humanity and embrace more of the better things that have come out in society since she left.

When Diana decided to take the mantle of Wonder Woman once again at the encouragement of her closest friends and family, the great heroine found new heroic faces such as the Kryptonian Superman and the human Batman among other respectable heroes whom, along with Wonder Woman, would end up forming the Justice League as the Earth's first great line of defense towards threats coming from both within and outside their world.
