History

The man who would become the Joker is a blank slate. He says he prefers to have his origin be multiple choice. He has told many different tales however.

Almost all of the origins agree that before he became the Joker he was a vigilante named the Red Hood, who fell into an acid vat while chasing Batman. The acid died his hair green and his skin white. He then decided to change his identity to the Joker.

  • He was a comedian ruined by Batman, he then chose to adopt the identity of Red Hood.
  • He was a chemist determined to retire with the reward money on Batman's head and then became the Red Hood.
  • He was Joe Chill, the cop who killed Batman's parents (Other sources say Chill committed suicide out of the guilt of creating Batman).
