Birth[]

Kal-El was born sometime in the 1980s to the scientist Jor-El and his wife, Lara Lor-Van, a former astronaut-turned librarian on the outskirts of Kandor on the planet Krypton. Later that year, Jor-El had discovered that Krypton was on the verge of destruction. In order to prevent his son from dying from a link with the Kryptonian artifact the Eradicator, Jor-El injected his son with a serum. Moments before Krypton's destruction, General Dru-Zod, his father's former friend and leader of the Sword of Rao, lead a coup d'état against the Kryptonian Science Council, believing that they were incapable of leading their people. Zod wanted to lead the Kryptonians and relocate them to another planet. After Zod attacked the Council, Jor-El rushed to the House of El Citadel in order to flee Krypton with his family. Zod and his forces followed Jor-El to his residence and engaged his former friend in combat; this was able to delay Zod long enough for Lara to launch Kal-El from Krypton, using a pod. Then, Lara attempted to escape herself, but was killed by Zod's lieutenant, Faora-Ul. Then, Jor-El was killed by Zod.

Landing on Earth[]

On October 16, 1989, Kal-El's pod landed on Earth, in Smallville, Kansas, during a meteor shower. His pod was found by Jonathan Kent and his wife, Martha, who were unable to have their own children, in Miller's Field, and Kal-El appeared to be two or three years old. The couple agreed to raise Kal and gave him the name Clark Kent. The Kents decided to hide Clark's origins from everyone. Lionel Luthor, who knew Jonathan, forged paperwork regarding Clark's adoption, also giving him the birth date of May 13, 1987. The couple agreed to raise Clark with a strong sense of moral values.

Childhood[]

At the age of three, Clark would meet Lana Lang for the first time during an arranged playdate and the two would eventually grow up to become close friends. Also at the age of three, he became best friends with Pete Ross, the son of another farmer.

At one point, Clark and his two friends, nicknamed "Squinty" and "Tiny", were wandering near caves in Smallville, where they found who they thought was a caveman. When they were inside of the cave, three thugs named Roscoe, Duke, and Lefty attempted to apprehend the "caveman", but was stopped by Clark, who got in the way, and much to everyone's surprise, subdued the thugs. It turned out that the "caveman" was actually a local Smallville resident named Henry Macon. When Jonathan and Martha learned of what had happened, they were relieved and embraced Clark. Sheriff Ethan Miller, a longtime friend of his adoptive father's took the three criminals into custody and revealed that the three were connected to a local criminal named Rufus Sludge.

Another time, a plastic marble with a secret formula was taken from him by a boy named Jim, so, at the advice of his friend Johnny Meadows, he held a tournament to get the marble back. Sometime later, Clark and Johnny were at the bakery with their parents when they saw two men named Ezra Bicker and Mr. Migraine harassing the owner, Old Crandall, attempting to extort him. Meanwhile, a teenager named Daffington Dilbert attempted to discreetly take a picture of them on his phone, but was threatened by the two thugs. Jonathan, Mr. Meadows, Mr. Plummer, and Mr. Withers attempted to intervene and distract the thugs, which gave Old Crandall enough time to alert the law enforcement.

Clark and his teacher Miss Fletcher watched his friend and classmate Billy Benton race in a soapbox derby. Not much later, Clark's birthday would be coming up and it was on the same day as Betty Marr's, so they decided to hold a joint birthday party, so everyone would come. At the birthday party were his friends Joie Matthew, Johnny Meadows, Squinty, Tiny, Lana Lang, and Pete Ross. Later, Clark came to the toymaking competition of his friend Joie Matthew, who was blind. Joie won and was awarded prize money by Mr. Gooding and Cawley to pay for his eye treatment. Several days later, he watched a school play about Jack the Giant and Princess Blenda.

By the age of seven, Clark attended Weisinger Primary School. During his time in Weisinger Primary School, he would meet Whitney Fordman, Chloe Sullivan, Greg Arkin, and Kenny Braverman. His first grade teacher's name was Lois Hannigan.

High School[]

For high school, Clark attended Smallville High School, in which Lang, Ross, Fordman, Sullivan, Arkin, and Braverman would attend along with him.

Meeting Lex Luthor[]

In 2001, during his freshman year, Clark was surfing the internet for various impossible acts on the computer. His mother called him to breakfast and Clark attempted to gain permission to play football, showing a permission slip. His father refused to sign the permission slip, worrying that he might hurt other people while playing. That moment, he had missed the bus and ran through a cornfield fast enough to catch up and jump on top of the bus's roof. When the bus reached the school, Clark met up with Pete and Chloe, telling them that he couldn't play football and admitted that he and Pete only wanted to play football to avoid becoming that year's "scarecrow." Then, Clark noticed Lana Lang walk by, who was wearing a necklace made from Kryptonite, which made him fall over in pain and drop his books. As Lana stopped to help Clark pick up his books, Whitney, who was her boyfriend, walked to her and kissed her. Whitney asked if Clark was okay, before leaving for class with Lana. After school, Clark tried out of the football team. Afterwards, he walked by Lana, who was practicing with the other cheerleaders. Clark daydreamed about being the star quarterback, until Pete came to him.

Clark Kent meets Lex Luthor in Smallville

Then, Clark made his way home, when a truck passed by, dropping sharp debris. An unaware driver drove on the debris and swerved into Clark, knocking them both into Elbow River off of Loeb Bridge. Fortunately, Clark was unharmed and he saw the driver of the car unconscious and saved him, pulling him out of the water and resuscitating him. The driver thanked Clark and introduced himself as Lex Luthor. Clark's father arrived and lashed out at Lex Luthor for what had happened. Later that night, at his family barn, he was using his telescope to spy on Lana, who was talking to Whitney in her room. The next day, Clark came home from school and saw a truck from the driveway, which his mother told him was a gift of thanks from Lex Luthor for saving his life. His father was keeping the keys because he did not want Clark to keep it, due to his dislike of the Luthors. Then, Jonathan mentioned that LuthorCorp had evicted some of their neighbors to build a new factory in Smallville. Jonathan told Clark that it was okay to be angry, but the latter stuck his hand in the woodchipper, claiming that he was not "normal." In response, Jonathan showed Clark his pod, which was kept hidden in the storm cellar and told him that he was from another planet. Angry that he was not told sooner, Clark ran away to the Smallville Cemetery and encountered Lana. Clark asked Lana if she had anyone to go to the homecoming dance with, which she responded that she was going with Whitney. Then, Clark told Lana that he was going to "sit this one out." The next day, Clark went to Lex Luthor's mansion to return the keys to the truck, telling him that his father did not like him because of what the latter's father had done to the town. Lex asked Clark if he believed if a man could fly and that while he was unconscious during the accident, he dreamt of a man flying. Then, Lex told Clark that he wanted nothing to get between them. Clark went to school and learned that a football player had been put into a coma sometime after Chloe had first seen a student named Jeremy Creek. Clark, Chloe, and Pete found a picture of Jeremy in a 12 year-old yearbook and noticed that he still looked the same due to suffering from electrolyte imbalance caused by the meteor shower. Then, Chloe showed her two friends here "Wall of Weird", which included a picture of a young Lana Lang crying after the deaths of her parents during the meteor shower. Clark felt guilty and thought that he was to blame. After school, Clark walked out of the building and was confronted by Whitney, who placed Lana's necklace on his chest, choosing him to be that year's scarecrow. The other football players beat Clark up and threw him in the back of a pickup truck, before driving him to Riley Field, tying up on a cross, and painting an "S" on his chest. Jeremy, who had followed the football players to the field, found him tied up and said that the jocks would not stop hazing people like they did to him. Clark asked Jeremy for help, but the latter refused, implying that the former was safer where he was. Jeremy left Clark behind and Lex Luthor drove by and saw Jeremy, recognizing him from twelve years earlier. Then, Lex heard Clark cry for help, found him, and untied him, which caused Lana's necklace to fall off, before the latter ran away, realizing that Jeremy would be going to the homecoming dance to electrocute everyone. Clark showed up at the school before Jeremy could set off the sprinklers to electrocute the people at the dance, then attempted to reason with him. However, Jeremy tried to electrocute Clark, but the latter was not hurt. Then, Clark threw Jeremy away from the sprinklers and urged him to give up, but the latter started a truck in an attempt to hit the former. Clark held onto the truck and pushed it away, knocking water onto Jeremy, which electrocuted him, taking away his powers, changing his appearance to his actual age of 25, also wiping his memory of his opponent. Clark introduced himself to Jeremy and told him that he was in Smallville, before going back into the school to see Lana dancing with Whitney, being crowned Homecoming Queen and King, before walking away. As he walked out, he saw three trucks belonging to football players stacked on top of each other, before he sped away to his home. Clark waited in his family's barn for Lana to return home; after she did, he looked at her through his telescope, while his father came up and told him that his father gave him that telescope when he was Clark's age. Clark responded by telling his father that he was glad that the latter and his mother found him, which his father responded by saying that the former found them. Then, Clark daydreamed about himself dancing with Lana.

Later that night, Clark went to bed and dreamed that he was flying; he flew into Lana's house, over her bed, and she told him "it's all your fault." Then Clark woke up and told his father what had happened. That day, Clark and his parents went to the farmer's market, where he confronted Whitney, who claimed that the scarecrow and incident was "just a joke." Whitney asked him for Lana's necklace, which he had lost. Later, a student from Smallville High named Greg Arkin attacked Whitney, who was driving to his home, in his truck. Clark and his family drove to the site of the attack, where he saved Whitney before the truck exploded into flames as the former was unharmed, much to his parents' surprise. The Kent family returned home, where they were visited by Lex, who gave Clark Lana's necklace, which made him sick, so he put it in a box and urged him to give it to Lana. After school the next day, Lana found Clark in his barn to study together and apologized for what Whitney had done to him. She expressed admiration for the barn, which Clark said that his father had built and that he had called it his "Fortress of Solitude." Clark considered returning her necklace, but he decided not to. Later, Greg went to the barn to find Clark, but attacked his father instead, until Clark saved him, recognizing him as his former friend. Realizing that Greg's powers were a result of the meteor shower, Clark felt responsible for what had happened to him. The next day at school, Clark visited Chloe, who, through research, proposed a possible way Greg could have gotten his powers. Clark and Pete remembered how they used to be friends with Greg in elementary school. The three friends went to Greg's house to check on him and saw pieces of skin scattered around his house, a picture of Lana, and his mother's corpse. Clark rushed back to the barn to save Lana, when Whitney was there and told him that Greg had already came and kidnapped Lana, going into the woods. Clark rushed into the woods and found Lana in a cocoon at his old tree-house at the Creekside Foundry. He felt weak as there were pieces of Kryptonite scattered across the woods, but then, he found out that lead would shield him from their effects. Next, he found Greg and threw him at a tree, which fell down on him. Whitney followed Clark into the woods and embraced Lana, walking away together. That night, Clark went to Lana's house and left her necklace on the doorknob.

Joining the Football Team[]

On a Monday, head football coach Walt Arnold, who had been accused by Chloe of abusing his players, approached Clark and urged him to join the football team, which he accepted, although knowing that his father would not allow him to. After school, he went home and argued with his father, who would not let him play football. Eventually, his mother was able to convince his father to attend his first practice.

The next day, after school, Clark's father attended his first practice. During practice, Clark jumped over the other linemen and scored a touchdown, which caused his father to leave, disappointed. Later, Clark and his father argued again about the former's position on the football team.

Another day later, Clark went to the Beanery, where they encountered Lana and saw seven suspended football players walking out.

On Thursday, Clark saw a fire start at the Torch with Chloe inside and the fire suddenly stopped once he got closer. Chloe implied that Coach Arnold had been been responsible for his players' cheating and the recent fires. Clark and Chloe went to look for former player Trevor Chapell at the Beanery to gain proof of what Coach Arnold had done. At the Beanery, he saw Lex with Lana and talked with them about their respective parents' expectations. In the end, Lex said that both of them have inspired him to stand up to his father.

On Friday, Clark went to Trevor's house and found him in the corner of his garage with fire extinguishers. Trevor revealed that Coach Arnold had given him the answers to the test and had burnt his arm. Clark found Coach Arnold in his sauna, confronted him about hurting Trevor and threatened to expose him. However, as he was exposed to Kryptonite, which was inside of the sauna, allowing Arnold to easily overpower him and lock him inside the room. Clark attempted to escape by grabbing the Kryptonite rocks at the window. Then, his father arrived and dragged him out of the room. After recovering, he confronted the coach again and briefly fought him, before the latter became angry enough that he burnt himself alive. Afterwards, Clark told his father that he would quit the football team, much to the latter's satisfaction. Then, he found Lana on the football field, who told him that she got fired from the Beanery and quit the cheerleading squad. Lana insisted that since they were alone, they both screamed out loud to let out all of their tension.

Developing X-Ray Vision[]

Clark was walking down the street, when he saw who appeared to be Lex and asked "him" what was going on, when "he" threw him through the window of Speck's Optical. Clark had a headache and was able to see Lex's skeleton, which had a green glow. Later, when he went home, his mother read about a bank robbery in the newspaper, which had apparently been committed by Lex. However, Clark insisted that it could not have been Lex. Then, Lex showed up at their front door and claimed that he had an alibi; he was in Metropolis at a reception for 200 fertilizer distributors. Clark told Lex that the bank robber looked exactly like him.

The next day, Clark was climbing a rope against Pete, when he suddenly saw his friend's muscles through his skin, causing the former to be distracted and fall to the floor. He was unharmed and got up, only to see Lana take off her towel through the wall in the girl's locker room. After school, Clark told his parents about his new x-ray vision, which they responded by telling him to practice by focusing his vision. A few hours later, Clark went with his mother to go to Rose Greer's shop on Main Street, when his x-ray vision started acting up again. When they arrived at the shop, Clark saw "Rose's" skeleton and out of suspicion, asked where her Tina was. "Rose" claimed that Tina was with Lana, so Clark walked out. One minute later, a person who looked like him drove off with his mother's truck, nearly running over his mother. Clark rushed up and helped her up, before going home. Later, Clark learned from his father that the police found the truck abandoned. Then, his mother said that the antique store was the only place she had stopped by that day and that she had seen a bag of cash that said "Smallville Loans and Savings", implying that it could have been from the bank robbery. Martha was stumped as to how Rose could have suddenly turned to Clark. Clark said that he saw a green glow around both Lex's and Rose's skeletons. His mother explained to him that Tina was born with a soft bone disease and was not expected to survive, until the 1989 meteor shower, around her third birthday.

The next day, Clark kept looking at Tina, trying to see her skeleton. He saw her walk up to Lana, claiming that her mom was moving to Metropolis and that she wanted to move in with her and Nell, which the latter of the girls refused. Tina was angry and brushed off, while Clark saw her skeleton and a the stolen cash in her backpack. After school, Clark told his parents what he had seen. That night, "Lana" went to the Kent's barn, where she found Clark, kissed him, and learned that he had told the police about Tina. Then, "Lana" pushed him through the wall, falling one story, before transforming into Tina and leaving him. Afterwards, Clark kept practicing his x-ray vision, when Lana arrived and told him about her mother's diary, Clark told Lana that he had many things he would ask his biological parents if he had the chance. Later, Clark went to the antique store with Pete to look for Tina, when the former of the boys saw a skeleton in a cabinet. They went inside and opened the cabinet, to find Rose dead, deducing that Tina killed her. Then, they saw papers with Lana's signature on them and deduced that Tina was looking for Lana. Clark found Tina, who was impersonating Whitney, at the cemetery. Tina attacked Clark, who suddenly felt weak, but when she took off the jacket, Clark gained the upper hand and defeated her. Then, Clark scanned the cemetery to find Lana moving in a crypt and freed her. Later, he went home and his parents told him that Tina was taken into custody and that she wouldn't be hurting anyone else. Then, he went up to the barn and saw Whitney and Lana embrace through his x-ray vision.

First Date With Lana[]

Sometime in November, Clark and Chloe went to a high school party outside of Crater Lake. Clark saw Sean Kelvin approach and ask out Chloe, who gave him her number in response. Seeing this, Clark claimed that she only gave him her number to get rid of him.

The next day, Clark joked that he could quit high school and become a professional athlete, making money with many endorsements. He walked to school with Pete and Chloe, learning that Sean did not call her back as he had promised. Later that day, outside of the Beanery, Clark ran into Lex, who told him that Lana was free the next night and gave him two tickets, then promised him a limo ride if he asked her out in the next minute. Taking his friend's advice, Clark went to Lana and asked her out.

Another day later, Clark told Pete and Chloe about his upcoming date with Lana, when Sean approached Chloe, freezing cold, and asked her out on a date, which she declined, saying that she did not have time. Then, Sean walked up to Jenna Barnum and asked her on a date, which she accepted, much to the dismay of both Clark and Chloe. That night, Chloe helped Clark pick what to wear for his date with Lana. Then, Clark got into a limo with Lana and talked about how they liked reading books and looking into telescopes as escapism. On the limo's television, Clark saw the news report of Jenna Barnum's death, so he left Lana at the Beanery before rushing to the school. Clark found Chloe trapped in the frozen swimming pool by Sean. He freed Chloe, but Sean was already gone. Clark and Chloe went to the Torch, where they researched a condition that could have caused Sean's physical state at the time. Clark remembered his date with Lana and made his way back to the Beanery, when he saw Sean cause the limo to crash. Then, Sean attacked Clark and stole body heat from him, leaving him frozen on the ground. Clark attempted to follow Sean to Lex's mansion; once he recovered, he prevented Sean from stealing body heat from his mother. Sean stole more body heat from Clark, who threw him into a pond, where he froze and was trapped in ice.

At school, in the next morning, Clark walked by the memorial for Jenna and apologized to Lana for missing their date the previous night. Lana responded by telling him that Whitney became jealous after hearing about what she had done. Clark asked Lana why she dated Whitney, which she answered by saying that he was always there for her and made her feel safe.

Visions of the Future[]

Clark, Pete, and Lana were required by the school to perform 30 hours of community service, so they all chose the Smallville Retirement Center. Clark was assigned to a blind woman named Cassandra Carver, who claimed that she could see the future and was very alert of her surroundings, despite being her lack of vision. Pete came in and asked Cassandra if she could tell him anything about himself; she told him to check his pockets, then he had learned that he had left his keys inside of his car. Then, Cassandra revealed to Clark that someone close to him will die soon. Later, Clark went home and told his parents about what he had heard from Cassandra, which they had dismissed. Clark went to the Beanery with Lana and Chloe, pondering the disappearance of an elderly man named Harry Bolston. An young man came upon them and wished them luck finding Bolston. Afterwards, Clark went to Lex's mansion to deliver a package of produce and told him about Cassandra's prediction, which intrigued the latter of the men.

The next day, Clark returned to the retirement home to visit Cassandra; Lana, who was also present, told him that she had given a statement to the police and that his real name was Harry Volk and that he was convicted of murder 60 years prior at the age of seventeen, when he murdered his teacher's son after the teacher had recommended the son to the Metropolis Conservatory instead of him. Cassandra told Clark that she had started having her visions the same day she had lost her sight - the day of the meteor shower. Clark held her hand and saw himself surrounded by tombstones of his family and friends, leaving him terrified. He ran home and told his parents about the vision, interpreting it as that he would outlive everyone he knew. That night, Chloe and Pete visited Clark in his barn and told him that Jim Gage had been blindfolded and strangled with a piano wire: the same way his piano instructor's son died in 1945. Clark was skeptical that Harry Volk could have been the killer, until Chloe showed him a photograph of young Harry, who resembled the young man whom they had seen earlier at the Beanery. Chloe considered the possibility that Harry could have traveled through time. Clark insisted that they searched Harry's room. They went to the retirement center, where Clark was stopped by Cassandra, while Pete and Chloe went to check the room. Cassandra told Clark that she knew of his origins and that he would save many people in the future and showed him a vision of people in trouble, none of whom he knew. Then, Clark followed his friends into Harry's room where he saw a picture of Zoe Garfield, granddaughter of Eve Garfield, who was Harry's mentor. Clark believed that Harry would be targeting her next and rushed to the Beanery, where he saved Zoe from being strangled by Harry and took him down. Clark went home and his mother told him that Harry was in the hospital for observation. Then, he told his mother that Cassandra knew his secret, which his parents responded by telling him to stop seeing her.

Clark and Lana went to the koi pond at the retirement center the next day, where the former learned that Harry had told the police that an "obsessed kid" had kidnapped him. Suddenly, the Kryptonite in the pond began to weaken him, when Harry had went to the pond, had claimed he was interested that Clark's last name was Kent, before pushing his wheelchair into the pond, drowning himself. Clark went home with his father and saw that Harry had attempted to kill his mother with a knife, but was stopped when his mother had dropped a pile of grain on both of them. They pulled her out of the grain and tended to her.

Another day later, Clark returned to the nursing home and found Cassandra dead, realizing that she had predicted her own death.

Lana's Birthday Party[]

At school, Chloe and Pete asked Clark for help with their algebra assignments, but he was too distracted by Lana. Clark studied with Lana for their algebra midterm, when Whitney approached them and told Lana that he would be unable to attend her birthday party, because he had received the opportunity to try out for the Kansas State football team. Later, Lana arrived at the farm with a produce order for her party, when Clark offered to accompany her during the party. She accepted, but asked Clark to actually show up that time. After school, Clark spied on Lana from his barn as Whitney gave her a book as a present. Chloe appeared from behind and teased him about spying, before telling him about a deer that was found dead on Route 5 and that the cause of its death was currently unknown. She asked him to come with him to the deer's corpse and found that it's body fat had been sucked out. Chloe took photographs and joked that a "fat-sucking vampire" could have done that.

The next day, at school, Clark saw Lex looking at Chloe's Wall of Weird and learned that he had stopped by to offer a new computer lab to the school, since the manager of the plant nearby, Gabe Sullivan, is always talking about his daughter Chloe and her work at the Torch. Then Clark told Lex about Chloe's theory that all strange occurrences in Smallville could be traced back to the meteor shower. Later, Clark and Lana went to the football stadium, where she told him that she hadn't had a happy birthday since she was three years old when her parents took her to a drive-in. He heard a noise and traced it to the boiler room and found Dustin emaciated.

Another day later, Chloe told Clark that Dustin was in a coma and had lost his body fat and that he would have died if Clark didn't find him. Then, they joined Jodi Melville in the cafeteria who was eating quickly. After school, Clark got ready for Lana's party, when Chloe showed him the report from the Smallville Body and Fender regarding repairs made to Jodi's car, deducing that she had hit the deer and had sucked the fat out of it due to her weight loss. Later, Clark rushed to Jodi's house to meet up with Pete, when he saw Jodi about to suck the fat out of him, so he saved him, while Jodi ran to the greenhouse. He followed her inside and saw that the building was filled with Kryptonite. Jodi hit him with a shovel, before seeing her reflection in the mirror and feeling remorse. So, Jodi hit the lights, causing electricity to ignite the gas and causing an explosion. Clark got up and saved her, rushing her out. Clark returned home and told his parents that Jodi was at the hospital, before he left for Lana's party. When he arrived, Lana was upset that he did not show up, so Clark decided to repay her by taking her to a drive-in movie where they ate popcorn and watched Looney Tunes.

Level Three[]

When Clark went to school, he told Chloe and Pete that he planned to throw a party at his house, while his parents were celebrating their anniversary in Metropolis. He intended to only invite a few people, but later that night, roughly a hundred people showed up, half of whom he did not know. He used his super speed to stop a guest from throwing up on the floor. Then, he saw Lana show up, but without Whitney, before fireworks went off. He learned that Lex Luthor had set off the fireworks; Lex said that the police would not be bothered and that he wanted to make the party a success. Whitney came to the party, upset at Lana, and told her to come with him to the barn. Clark heard screams coming from inside and rushed in, finding a man named Earl Jenkins, who was suffering from seizures and was looking for the former's father. He tried to help Earl, who started to have another seizure, but he got hurt as his veins turned green. Then, he called an ambulance for Earl. Later, at the hospital, he was joined by Chloe, who he told about Earl and how he used to work at the Kent Farm before becoming an employee at the Luthor Plant. Earl had another seizure and fell on the floor, when Deputy Miller arrived.

The next morning, he realized that his house was still a mess, so he used his super speed to clean up his house, only for his parents to have been there the whole time. Clark told his parents about Earl and that he was wanted for murder. They returned to the hospital, where the doctor told them that Earl was suffering from some kind of mineral poisoning and that his body was trying to expel rock fragments from his skin. Earl claimed that his condition was caused by an explosion at the Luthor Plant, which there was no record of.

After another day went by, Clark went on a field trip to LuthorCorp Smallville Fertilizer Plant No. 3, where Chloe's father, Gabe, was the manager and the host of the tour. During the trip, Clark searched for level three and found a hall where an elevator used to be. He wandered off and went into a room that was marked only for authorized personnel. Suddenly, Earl arrived and took the group hostage in hopes of finding Level 3. Subsequently, the plant was cleared out and Clark snuck in blueprints for the building to show Earl that there was no Level 3. After Lionel Luthor had arrived, Earl had another seizure and hit Clark in the face with a pipe, which began leaking methane gas. Whitney asked Clark to help him take down Earl, but ended up trying to take him down himself and failing. Everyone was able to evacuate the plant, but Clark stayed behind. He ran by where the elevator used to be and saw that there was one on the other side of the wall, so he used the intercom to notify Earl. Then, Clark used his strength to stop the methane gas leak, while Earl took Lex into the elevator. Clark followed the two men to a catwalk, where Earl had a seizure and hit the rail, causing it to fall apart and Earl and Lex to be dangling 30 feet above the floor. He pulled up Earl, who ran to the elevator, then Lex. The three ran to the elevator, as Earl had a seizure, causing the catwalk to collapse. Afterwards, Earl was taken into custody by A.R.G.U.S., while Clark was reunited with his parents and Lex confronted his father. During a press conference, Lionel described Level 3 as a storage area.

Blackmailed[]

Clark attended a charity gala in the Luthor Hall Collection of the Metropolis Museum. He and Lex viewed a suit of armor that belonged to Alexander the Great with red and blue jewels and a snake emblem shaped like an "S." Lana, who came with Whitney, invited Clark to join them, but, instead, he went to get air outside. A runaway bus almost crashed into a bus stop, where a man was sleeping, so Clark rushed into the way and took the crash, unharmed.

In the morning of the next day, Clark carried a generator into the barn for his father, while telling him about the incident with the bus. The generator suddenly fell down, as Metropolis Police Department Detective Sam Phelan approached Clark and told him that he needed his help. However, Clark believed that Phelan was planning something bad and turned him down. In response, Phelan threatened to out him unless they met at the Beanery afternoon the next day. Later that night, Lex went to the barn and warned Clark about Phelan.

The next day, Chloe was angry at Clark and Lana after learning that the other female had become the new editor of the Torch after she had been relieved of the position. Phelan confronted Clark and ordered him to steal his file from his Metropolis Police precinct. Clark agreed to do so, snuck into the precinct and stole the file, before breaking out.

Another day later, Lex offered to help Clark against Phelan, but the latter refused. That same day, Phelan and Clark returned to Metropolis, where the former ordered the latter to steal Alexander the Great's breastplate. Phelan had the security system disabled and faked a bomb threat in order to clear the building. Clark put the breastplate in a duffel bag carried by Phelan, then threw it out of a window for the guards to see. Phelan was angered and shot at Clark with his gun, who dodged the bullet and ran off without any witnesses. Then, Phelan was shot dead by the guards.

Superman, Wonder Woman, Azrael, Kyle Rayner, Red Robin, Conner Kent, Lobo, and Captain Marvel were summoned by the Brother representing the DC Universe. They were told that he and his Brother were holding a contest in which they would pit them against fighters from his Brother's universe, which consisted of the Hulk, Storm, US Agent, Silver Surfer, Jubilee, Ben Reilly, Wolverine, and Thor, with the losing universe being destroyed. The Brothers insisted that any attempts to fight back at them would be futile, so they all decided to stay in their contest.

Amalgam[]

In order to prevent the destruction of a universe, the Spectre and Marvel's Living Tribunal joined forces to create the Amalgam Universe, combining characters, events, and aspects from both the Marvel and DC universes. During the Amalgam event, Superman was combined with Marvel's late Captain America to create Clark Kent, Super-Soldier. During World War II, Clark Kent was chosen to be the test subject for a US government experiment in which his DNA would be tested by alien technology. The experiment was successful and Clark gained godlike superpowers and was dubbed "Super-Soldier." Super-Soldier was a member of the All-Stars Winners Squadron (a combination of the All-Star Squadron and Marvel's All-Winners Squad). His allies included the Daily Planet reporter Jimmy Olsen, Mademoiselle Peggy (a combination of Mademoiselle Marie and Marvel's Peggy Carter), and Sgt. Rock and his Howlin' Commandos, in addition to the Young Commandos (a combination of the Young Allies and Marvel's Boy Commandos), particularly Brooklyn Barnes (a combination of Dan Turpin and Marvel's Bucky Barnes). He attempted to romantically pursue a woman named Lois Lane, who instead married the Nazi and leader of HYDRA, Alexander Luthor, also known as the Green Skull (a combination of Lex Luthor and Marvel's Red Skull). Green Skull was his archenemy, in addition to having Ultra-Metallo (a combination of Metallo and Marvel's Sleeper robots) and Major Zemo (a combination of the Iron Major and Marvel's Heinrich Zemo), who were also Nazis and members of HYDRA, as enemies. During a battle against Ultra-Metallo, Super-Soldier fell into icy water, froze, and remained in suspended animation.

Decades later, Super-Soldier's body was discovered by the Judgement League Avengers (a combination of the Justice League of America and Marvel's Avengers) and thawed out of the ice. Green Skull was also still alive to that day, due to his powers, and HYDRA was still active.

During the Secret Crisis of the Infinity Hour (a combination of Crisis on Infinite Earths, Zero Hour, and Marvel's Secret Wars and Infinity Gauntlet), his partner Carol Barnes, the American Girl (a combination of Supergirl and Marvel's Bucky Barnes) died trying to stop Thanoseid (a combination of Darkseid and Marvel's Thanos), using the Infinity Links.

Super-Soldier took part in the Judgement League Avengers' mission to pursue the Aquamariner (a combination of Aquaman and Marvel's Namor), who was accused of attacking a Roxxon Oil tanker. The Judgement League X-Men (a combination of the Justice League of America and Marvel's X-Men) protected the Aquamariner and escaped with him.

Green Skull and HYDRA had revived Ultra-Metallo, using Green Kryptonite, which Super-Soldier was vulnerable to, and use the robot to bomb the White House. Super-Soldier was able to stop their plot, however.

Sometime later, Super-Soldier fought against the Doomnaut (a combination of Doomsday and Marvel's Juggernaut).
