History

Orin's (Born Arthur Curry) mother was a deep-sea diver who found a chest containing strange jars. After accidentally consuming one of the jar's contents she became infested with a strange disease that made her pregnant and changed her genes so that her son would be born a freak. Her doctor said that if she kept her son away from any water he would grow up normal. She managed to keep her son from water for a long time, but at his 18th birthday, he got into a water balloon fight and was splashed with a water balloon. He suddenly became desparate for water. He somehow managed to find a lake which he remained submerged in for weeks without moving. By this time he had mutated into a sea creature that could only survive out of water for a few days. He had totally lost his memory by this point.

He dwelled in the lake a long time before being recruited into the freak show of Zatanna's circus.
