Your power is useless. I am a force of nature unto myself.
--Professor Ooze
Professor Ooze is a super criminal that resides in Gotham city. Currently, he is locked in Arkham Asylum and is part of Batman's rogue's gallery.
Early life
Very little is known of Ooze's life before encountering Batman. However, what is known is he was a highly respected geneticist, though somewhat dubious. It is also known that he gained his abilities during a lab accident in college. However, past that, nothing is known.
Confronting the Batman
Ooze arrived early on in Jason Wayne's career as Batman. After arriving in Gotham, he quickly took up residence in the city, taking the public identity of Christopher Ozmund. However, after coming into conflict with the Dark Knight, this alias lost it's credibility. Originally, he defeated Batman in one on one combat. However, before he could kill the young Dark Knight, he was attacked by the Batmobile on it's remote control using the afterburner as a weapon, causing him to flee.
Later, he fought Batman again, only to be defeated by having Mr. Freeze's freeze gun on him, preventing him from shifting form and causing him to no longer be a threat. He was then incarcerated in Arkham asylum.
Powers and Abilities
Powers
Ooze is an extremely intelligent scientist. He also possesses the ability to shift his molecular density so he can become either hard as rock or an oil like liquid. However, he always possesses an easily exploitable weakness to intense heat. However, direct attacks on his body are seldom met with success. He is also capable of shapeshifting. He is also shown to possess a weakness to intense cold.
Metamorphosis: Being chemically altered gave him the ability to regenerate body mass, change shape, size, density and shape-shift into any form he could think of.
Professor Ooze bears similarities in powers to the Batman Beyond Villain Inque.
His weakness to intense heat is similar to the Marvel comics villains Venom and Carnage.
His defeat by use of Mr Freeze's freeze gun is indeed a tribute to Inque's defeat in the same way in her first appearance in the Batman Beyond animated series.
