History[]
Richard "Rick" Tyler (born February, 1994) was the son and only child the hero Rex Tyler, known as Hourman, and his wife Wendi Harris, a former stage actress. Growing up Rick had no idea about his father's superhero past. Instead having a mostly normal childhood. Though it was filled with a lot of fights, due to him inheriting his father's anger issues. Even so, he settled down after his parents introduced him to art. He also always had his childhood friend Beth Chapel in his corner no matter what. Which was especially helpful when Rick reached puberty and soon developed superhuman abilities, which he could use for one hour each day. After revealing this fact to his parents they then revealed their history with the superhero team the Justice Society of America, shortly after discovered Rick was a metahuman, having gains his powers as a result of his father Rex exposing himself to his hourglass, which gave him the same power set as Ricks', for many heroes when he was an active hero.
A duty Rick took up when he, his family, and many of their close friends came under threat from a group known as the Fourth Reich. So faced with this he donned his father's old costume and became the second Hourman. Who then alongside Courtney Whitmore, Yolanda Montez, and Beth, became the founding members of the third incarnation of the Justice Society of America.
