History
Background
Origin
When Robert was seventeen, he joined the Australian Army and proved to be an exceptional soldier, earning decorations for valor in combat. After this, Robert was selected for the covert-operations unit that was secretly backed by League of Assassins (Earth-300).
Robert G. Durant is one of the most nefarious and brutal criminals to live. His main business interests are assassinations, racketeering, and black market weapons trading.
Durant is a criminal mastermind of genius level intellect. His personal syndicate interests include drug trafficking, human trafficking, racketeering, black market weapons, money laundering, and financing various national and international criminal and terrorist enterprises. Durant maintains a massive network of underworld and mainstream connections, ranging from police officials, scientists, business tycoons and lawyers to federal agents, politicians, militants and crime lords throughout the world, keeping them loyal through bribery, blackmail, and intimidation. He also employs multiple hideouts, safe houses and hidden bunkers to remain away from prying eyes. His personal crew of enforcers can easily be labeled as "violence-crazed losers" for their brutality and weak wills. He prefers them so he can control them easier and order them to use their abilities for his own benefit.
His personality consists of sadistic, psychopathic and cynical, almost emotionless behavior. He greatly enjoys killing and torturing people, but even then he maintains a cynical business like attitude. He seems to lack the ability to feel emotion other than anger or greed. He is extremely paranoid and ill tempered, so much so that he'll kill his own men on mere suggestion if they make the slightest blunder. The motives to his actions are mainly greed; he is ambitious to the point where his personal sadistic ways are used in obtaining his goals.
Durant's modus operandi is to sever the fingers of his victims with his golden cigar trimmer, in which he collects and keeps in a box as trophies.
Enter Durant
Peyton Bennett was a mild-mannered Jamaican scientist, living in Manhattan, New York; working on a project to develop a synthetic skin, called 191 to replace skin graph procedures in severe injury cases, it would accomplish in hours what plastic surgery would take years to do. However, after several experiments, he learned the material was toxic on open wounds, and the project was going to be scrapped if he couldn't find a way to solve this. Unknown to Peyton at the time, the CEO of Daggett Industries, Roland Daggett was planning to proceed with an illegal sale of the invention to Third World nations, despite the risk to human health. When Peyton found out, he said he was going to release the true to the Press. Roland would be ruined so he called a friend Robert G. Durant to help remove his problem.
Before Dr. Bennett called the Press, he went to his lab, he knew he could found a better way and make 191 work. After countless failed experiments he finally is able to make 191.B a safe form of 191. Then the lights in his lab go out, he turns to go reset them and is stop by Robert G. Durant and his gang here to raided his lab. Viciously beat Peyton; burning his hands on electrical transformers, dunking his head into a vat of boiling 191 solvent then leaving him to die in an explosion set up by Durant with two flammable tanks, a dipping bird and a lighter. Peyton’s badly burned body was thrown clear from the building and landed in the nearby river.
