History[]

Vril Dox I was a brilliant Coluan scientist born on the planet Colu, which lies close to the Magenallic Clouds, and despite his planet being ruled by the Computer Tyrants, a supercomputer which regulated every aspect of life for Coluan's, he lead a very happy and meaningful life. As evidenced by his loving wife Lysl and his daughter Technie. However one day the fulfilled scientist and researcher took a turn and stated going down a dark path of which there was no returning from.

One day Drox developed an advanced artifical intelligence named C.O.M.P.U.T.O. to help him explore and reach father than anyone ever had before and access what was known as the Fifth Dimension. However instead of getting the result he wanted all Vril managed to discover was war, one that foretold the destruction of so many worlds by a force he simply dubbed "The Multitude". Which after seeing Dox tried to find various methods to stop this force, yet none of his ideas yielded any results. So in his quest to try and prevent the coming future calamity he moved toward his most drastic action yet. Acquiring a spaceship he set off from his homeworld and then used C.O.M.P.U.T.O. to build an army of robotic drones, as well as a clone of himself to be his companion and research assistant, and then began sending them out across the galaxy to not only help him obtain knowledge, but also to acquire living organisms from various other alien species. In particular he developed a habit of selecting one city from among the worlds he visited, encasing in in a stasis force-field, and then shrinking and bottling it. Due to this Vril Dox gained the moniker "Collector of Worlds". However it wasn't until after he visited the planet Kyrpton and was repelled by them, only managing to obtain the city of Kandor before having to flee, that he earned the name Brainiac. For the injuries he sustained when attacking Krypton forced him to merge with C.O.M.P.U.T.O creating one of the galaxies most ruthless and evil monsters, and one of Superman's, and by extension the Justice Leagues, most dangerous enemies.
