History

Waylon Jones was born to a poor family in Tampa, Florida with an unnerving medical condition that . But after being little more than the target of neglect and abuse Waylon would run away from home as a teenager and over the years his condition would worsen. At first he began to make his living wrestling alligators before being recruited as muscle for a gang. After getting arrested his case would attract the interest of the psychologist Hugo Strange who would visit him for an interview in prison under the alias of Dr. Victor Absonus. He offered Croc his freedom and the chance to become truly respected. And so Strange arranged for his escape and faked his death before bringing him to Gotham City. He would mentor him in the art of strategy and brush up his fighting skills. Strange developed plans to use him as a proxy in his manipulation of the Gotham Underworld and also wanted the chance to study his genetic make-up to see if it could contribute to his "Monster Men" project.
