James' blood has mixed with wolf's blood when he was a kid, making him a wolf/human hybrid. James has his own IT company, which soon became one of the biggest corporations in the USA, making James famous just like Bruce Wayne or Oliver Queen.
Origin
As a kid, James lived near the forest, where he did spend most of his time. One day, a wolf attacked him. If not for the help of his father, young Avalone would surely end up dead. By a coincidence, wolf's blood mixed with James' blood, which he discovered with his parents while being controled by a doctor. Unfortunately, wolf's blood became one with the kid's blood, which made it impossible to cure Jasper.
Few years later, James and his brother, Connor, were on their way back home from school. They have chosen to go by the short way. That was a bad choice. It was a dark, small alley and soon few bandits attacked them, as they always do in dark, small alleys. Both boys decided to fight, and while James did win because of his abilities, Connor was too weak and disappeared, kidnapped by those thugs.
When James was 21, his powers started to show themselves, resulting in pain and a sickness. Shrugging it off, James considered it a simple cold. However, it started getting worse and doctors were simply helpless. That's how he met the "Project Zero". It was a government project which had to create an ideal human, immortal and packed with all sorts of superpowers. Under the excuse of healing James, Project Zero's agents copied Avalone's DNA, which was needed to create the mentioned ideal superhuman. Then, he was to be terminated.
However, James was awakened from his coma by the terrible pain that he suffered because of the experiment. James learned about their plans and destroyed the facility, breaking out of there. That wasn't the end, as the project's director, Jack Hudson shot James in the head. The bullet destroyed the brain and even though it regenerated, the bullet made Avalone lose his memories.
Soon, James' brother arrived in the city. Connor was angry, saying that James left him, that he should look for him. That day started their sibling rivalry. Not remembering Connor, he still wanted to stop the insane terrorist. James decided to fight him under the name "Wolfman", referring to his supernatural abilities, which he used during his fight against Connor, now known as "The Hunter".
After few years, Wolfman became Razor City's superhero mascot, which soon resulted in him teaming up with other heroes like Batman or Green Lantern and even joining the Justice League.
Personality
James is an arrogant man. He always thinks he is better than others, especially his enemies. He's also very irresponsible and his mouth never shuts; Wolfman's somewhat loquacious, what often gets him into trouble. James is a really cheerful man or simply seems to be such. He likes to joke and jokes about everything and everyone, including his enemies. James' sentences are also oftenly filled with sarcasm or/and irony, sometimes even auto-irony. Wolfman truly cares about people he loves or thinks of as friends; sometimes he is overprotective about them - that's a trait that came as an effect of mixing his genes with those as a wolf, as wolves are very protective and social animals. A few other traits came with his wolf genes, one of them being loyal to people he thinks that deserve the loyalty.
Powers and Abilities
Powers
Being a wolf/human hybrid, James gained the abilities of wolves:
- Wolf Empathy: Werewolves can sense and understand the emotions of animals and vice-versa.
- Retractable Claws: Lycans can project and retract razor-sharp claws from their fingertips for offensive purposes.
- Toxic Immunity: Werewolves are immune to all forms of poisons, toxins and venom except for the Vampire toxin.
- Superhuman Durability: The transformation, fortifies a werewolf's bodily tissues, making them far tougher and more resistant to injury than normal humans. While they can be injured by something along the lines of a sharp knife or armor piercing bullets composed of unknown material, they ARE very resistant to great impact forces and blunt trauma. They can withstand powerful impacts, such as falling from several stories or being repeatedly struck by a superhuman enemy, that would severely injure or kill a normal human with little to no injury to himself.
- Enhanced Senses: They can see with greater clarity and greater distances than an ordinary human. Their vision extends into the ultraviolet and infrared areas of the electromagnetic spectrum, allowing them to see in near-total darkness and retain the same level of clarity. A Lycan's hearing is similarly enhanced, enabling them to detect sounds normal humans can't and sounds they ordinarily could but at much greater distances. Lycans can memorize tens of thousands of scents. Their sense of smell enables them to recognize people or objects by scent, even if they are well hidden. They can track a target by scent and track them to the exact location, can smell fear, and detect if someone is lying by change in body odor. A Lycan's sense of taste is sensitive to the point that they are able to taste the exact ingredients of any particular food they are eating.
- Superhuman Reflexes: Werewolves have drastically enhanced reaction speed, allowing them to dodge bullets, catch flies in mid-air, dodge and maneuver around complex attacks, catch falling objects, block detriments and react instantaneously to what others take more time to react to. Their reflexes are superior to that of Vampires.
- Superhuman Strength: Lycan's ordinarily have low levels of superhuman physical strength and the range is between 1000 lbs and 2.5 tons; although the full limits aren't known. While as a 12-15 feet wolf, their strength seems to increase a bit.
- Superhuman Speed: They are able to run and move at speeds superior to those of any Olympic athlete, and is capable of reaching speeds of 60 mph (26.82 m/s); their maximum speed is expected to be around 30 m/s (67.1 mph). They have the ability to attack faster than the eye can follow. Their combat speed seems more enhanced then anything else, as they have frequently kept up with other enemies in combat, and blitzed people before they pull their trigger fingers. While in their wolf-form, they can reach speeds up to 42-45 m/s.
- Superhuman Stamina: A Werewolf's body is highly resistant to the build-up of fatigue toxins in their blood, allowing them to be physically active for considerably longer periods of time than a human being.
- Accelerated Healing: If a Lycan does sustain injury, their body's increased metabolism allows them to heal damaged tissue much faster and more extensively than a normal human is capable of. While not nearly as efficient as the healing powers possessed by a Vampire, they can heal from injuries that would prove lethal to an ordinary human. Also, they have a higher resistance to drugs and diseases.
- Lycan Fangs: A Lycan can turn others into werewolves by simply biting them with their fangs and infecting them with the Lycan infection. Their fangs are deadly to vampires.
- Superhuman Bite: Lycans have particularly strong bite because of their sharp teeth and strong jaw muscles.
- Longevity: A Lycan ages several times slower than a normal human being and therefore can be at his prime for several years.
- Wolf Form: They can transform into a gigantic 12-15 feet wolf to scare off humans or catch their preys/chase vampires on their four legs instead of two (Werewolves are faster and stronger in their wolf form).

- Wolf Control: James is able to communicate with and order such animals like wolfs, dogs, coyotes or foxes.

Weaknesses
- Power Instability: James Avalone is always at risk of losing control of his feral side.
- Vulnerability to Silver: Silver in every form can seriously hurt Wolfman and is even able to kill him.
- Amnesia: A bullet in the head made James lose his memories, which can be considered a good thing, for he doesn't remember the brutal experiment he had to participate in.
Paraphernalia
Equipment: Wolfman Suit: Wolfman's suit has actually two versions. The first one was made of elastane, being very comfortable and elastic, but also very vulnerable to damage. It consisted of spandex suit and a kevlar wolf mask. However, when James was transforming into a werewolf, the suit shredded and he had to make a new one.
That's how a second version was created. Although it was made fully of kevlar, it looked like an armor. It was still comfortable, but it could sense when James was about to transform. When it did sense the transformation, the armor parted itself, flying away from the user so that Wolfman could transform without destroying the armor. Additionaly, the suit had such gadgets as GPS, NDB or a PDA.
